NEW PRODUCT INFORMATION
Issued: October 2007

Ondrives Ltd. of Chesterfield are pleased to offer their range of shock absorbers as standard from their mechanical drive components range.
The range includes both self-compensating and adjustable shock absorbers along with accessories such as stop collars and universal mounts to suit. They provide linear deceleration and are therefore superior to other kinds of damping element, the company states. It is easy for customers to calculate (around 90%) of applications knowing only the following parameters
Self-compensating shock absorbers have an operating temperature range of between -10ºC and +70ºC and they are provided with a steel body with a black oxide finish and either a stainless steel or chrome plated piston rod as standard.
Adjustable shock absorbers are calibrated from 0 to 9. The adjustment knob is locked with a lock screw which must be slackened with a 1.5mm Allen key before carrying out adjustment (take care not to completely remove and lose the lock screw as it is not held captive). After installing the shock absorber, cycle the machine a few times and alter the adjustment so that optimum deceleration is achieved (eg: no abrupt change in the lead velocity at the beginning or the end of this shock absorber stroke). These units are self-contained and may be installed in any mounting position. An integral mechanical stop is built into the front end of the units and an optional stop collar can be installed with this device if desired.
