Ondrives Ltd. have a range of linear ball splines available to purchase from their linear motion range of mechanical drive components.
As standard, there are two different types available which range from a standard plain carriage and the other is a flanged version. All are a two row, four point ball contact type in carbon steel and offer a maximum speed of 3m/sec with a constant operating temperature of 100ºC and a maximum of 120ºC. Sizes range from 6mm O/D going up to 75mm and lengths are offered as standard in 50mm increments from 50mm long to 1200mm on certain sizes, although other lengths are available on request.
Carriages may also be removed without the danger of the balls dropping out, so they are easily incorporated into applications, the company states. The spline raceways are hardened only, bit on smaller diameters the whole shaft may be hardened.
