New for Summer 2008, is the newest in-house produced oil filled worm gear reducer, the OFG40.

The OFG40 is available with shaft inputs from 5Nm to 18Nm in ratios varying from 5:1 up to 120:1 as standard with other special ratios available on request. There is a separate breather supplied loose with the gearbox to be installed by the end user with the typical breather configuration being on top of the gearbox. Optional breather configurations are available by special request.

The units measure 129mm only from shaft to shaft and so offer a viable option for small and confined spaces. Other advantages include high duty cycles compared to a grease filled gearbox and a higher specification on the sealing of the unit as well as corrosion resistance of the natural hard anodised aluminium casing.

They are standard with a hardened worm and therefore lower backlash with the reduced backlash version being made with ultra-precise matched worm wheel sets.

Ondrives Ltd would like to remind their foreign customers that a wide range of gears for export only are available to customer's specifications and drawings quickly and easily. Please send in your gears and/or drawings for a free quotation ' there is a large range available which vary from spur, double, anti-backlash, internal, helical and bevel types.

Gearcutting is one of the most recent manufacturing developments at Ondrives with investments in various types of gear cutting machines.

Investment in the latest Gleason-Pfauter P90 CNC Precision Gear Hobbing Machine incorporating the latest technology Swiss made AA grade solid carbide gear hobs producing DIN867 tooth shapes which is capable of manufacturing both spur and helical gears up to 3.0Mod and worms up to 5.0Mod with various parts up to 120mm diameters (approx). Standard cutting is to DIN7 and Hard (Skive) / Soft cutting to DIN5. We are able to cut to larger sizes by special arrangement. Our range of gear cutting machines from Mikron and other manufacturers enables us to produce spur, helical and wormwheels from 0.2Mod to 10Mod.

In addition to the most modern CNC machines, we also have a wide variety of manual machines and lots of standard measuring equipment as well as an in-house assembly department to produce our own custom designed gear reducer units.

Don't forget there is also the export gears only catalogue available complete with detailed technical drawings and dimensions to help assist with your product choice.
